The loss of a loved one is a difficult event from which we think we can never recover.
It is hard for us to reconcile that, ironically, death is a part of life, and when it comes into our lives we feel sadness, anger and helplessness, emotions that are part of mourning. This process is very natural, and although it is painful, it is possible to heal in these situations, by doing the following:
- It is very important to not deny the sadness, but to really feel and express it without repressing it.
- Do not despair with the constant presence of sadness and pain, you have to remember that they are very normal feelings during this type of event.
- If there are important decisions to make, it is advisable to postpone them, since during the grieving process you may not be capable of making good decisions.
- Try to focus on loved ones who are still with you and not ignore the good things in your life.
- Ask for help. If at any time you feel you cannot deal with the loss, it is important to ask for help from a specialist.
